Marathon Mondays: Week 18

Marathon Mondays

Holy cow. ONE. MORE. WEEK. Well…technically only 5 MORE DAYS! I’m actually getting more and more nervous. And yes, a little scared. I’m also now stalking my weather app to see how kind Mother Nature will be to us. According to the Weather Channel app, it should be sun and clouds with a high of 56 and a low of 36. I wish it were a little bit warmer because I am tired of these long runs in the cold. Fingers crossed because you know weather can change from one day to the next!

Monday: 4 mile run at Pub Run with Elijah
Garmin time: 4 mi in 40:28 = 10:06/mi pace

Tuesday: 30 minutes cycling

I did 20 minutes of speed intervals with a 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down.

Wednesday: Rest

Thursday: 6 mile treadmill run
Treadmill time: 6 mi in 1:06:30 = 11:05/mi pace

It was another cold gray day which made for a cold evening so rather than getting out on the pavement, I opted for the treadmill again. I can’t wait for the warmer weather because I hate anything more than 3 miles on the treadmill. Since I needed 6 miles, I did fartleks/speed play to keep things interesting. It made the time pass quicker, thankfully.

Friday: Rest

Saturday: 10 mile run
Garmin time: 10 mi in 1:49:34 = 10:58/mi pace

Since it was a cut back week, I took Elijah with me. He sure was happy to get out for a Saturday run with his running buddies!!

This was Elijah’s first 10 miler! I originally planned for 8 miles but my legs felt good and he just kept going. He was so excited to be out that he kept pulling faster so I actually had to pull him behind my friend and her girls to get him to stop pulling. He sure didn’t care much to be at the back of the pack! Ha!

Sunday: Rest

I was supposed to get out for a recovery walk but it was rainy all day. Instead of getting on the treadmill, I iced and compressed.

Total Miles: 20
