#WIAW: "Just read my blog!"

All you bloggers will appreciate this story that I’m about to share. Last night PJ and I went to Tsunami for drinks and sushi. One of his coworkers was celebrating her birthday. We, along with another coworker, showed up at the wrong location. But no matter, we stayed and enjoyed ourselves and the birthday girl even joined us later.

But while the three of us waited for others to show after making a few calls to try to form our own party, the subject turned to my blogging. I mean it was hard to avoid it considering anywhere we go I’m constantly taking pictures of my food, drinks, shots, or whatever is happening at the time and PJ felt the need to explain.

So after making the boys pause for this picture

He proceeds to talk about how important blogging is to me and how he can’t even ask me how my day was because I’m too busy click clacking away on the keyboard when he gets home. His coworker then proceeds to speak the official “Quote of the night”…

“You want to know how my day was? Just read my blog!”

Sadly PJ is not a technology person and doesn’t even know how to get to my blog…so I guess he’ll never know how my day went!

Now on to WIAW! And August’s theme is…

A big shout out to Jenn for hosting the party!

What WIAW isn’t about:
Comparison – Judgment – Restriction – Guilt

What WIAW is about:
Celebrating one of the glorious things we all have in common: We all eat!

WIAW is about food and fun! It’s about making new friends, breaking out of a food rut, inspiring yourself & others, embracing fruit & vegetables, finding new ways to eat your favorite foods, and so much more ♥

Celebrate blogging. Celebrate Food. Celebrate Individuality.

Before I share what we received in our Co-Op box yesterday {totally excited!!}, you can drool a little over all the sushi I enjoyed last night. Which, of course, I love to eat ANY time of the year!

{Appetizer} Seabiscuit
{G.M.C. roll} Crab and tempura flakes with shrimp, crab and spicy mayo mixed on top
{Deluxe Crunch roll}Tempura shrimp, crab, cream cheese and spicy mayo
{Fried Oyster roll} Fried oyster and cucumber with Japanese BBQ sauce
{My…my…Mai! roll} Crunchy deep fried tempura shrimp, crab, cucumber, cream cheese, spicy sauce topped with oven baked salmon flakes and masago on white sauce

Okay, so I’m not going to lie…I totally was like a giddy little kid in a candy store when opening the Co-Op goodies yesterday!

Count ‘em…yes, that’s right. That’s FOUR bunches of kale! I can’t wait to juice and steam these up!

Here’s the rest of my goodies box!

lettuce, grape tomatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli,
cucumbers, zucchini, and 2 bags of peaches

I’m totally excited about freezing up some of the peaches for some of my protein smoothies after a nice sweaty workout! Yum! The others will be either juiced or eaten fresh.

I’m also planning on making some sweet potato fries and chips. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the sweet potato fries I made from the last batch. It was my first time trying sweet potatoes. {I know, I know…seriously, where have I been??}

For the cucumbers, those are totally getting juiced. They always go bad before I can use them up so what better way to get the most out of them than to juice them!

I’ve been seeing zucchini bread recipes around…now I’ve never tried zucchini bread, but I think I’m going to take a risk and try making one! Any others that don’t get use will get………….{yep, you guessed it} JUICED!

What ideas do you get from all the fab veggies and fruits in my Co-op haul?

Do you have a delicious zucchini bread recipe to share? Share your link!
