A couple weeks ago I restocked my GNC GenetixHD products. I only use two of the three: Prosculpt and Physioburn. So previously I was using the fruit punch Prosculpt, which I love! But this go-round I decided to give the blue raspberry a try. The blue raspberry is good, but honestly I like the fruit punch better. Looks like I’ll be switching back on my next order!

Anyhow, my morning routine consists of me drinking a serving of Prosculpt {amino acids} immediately upon waking, then taking care of the furkids, and then getting dressed and popping in the home gym for a morning workout before work.

Sooooo……..let’s talk about smoothies, shall we?? After a nice sweaty workout and then getting ready work, I will grab breakfast and pack my lunch bag with my snacks for the day. Well, this past week I’ve jumped back into my protein smoothie kick. It was time that the old blender kicked the bucket, and while PJ’s single serving Ninja blender knock-off is great, I wanted something bigger for more fruit and spinach. Meaning, I wanted more than what I was able to fit in that little blender cup.

So, thanks to a Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon, I replaced the ancient blender with a brand new decently priced one. And as you can see, I have already put it to use! That’s a Body by Vi Shake sample that I received from Michelle Derks (@lovethevilife on Instagram) in one of the pictures. It was a very tasty addition to the smoothie! {I normally add a half scoop of protein powder to my smoothies.} I wish it was a little bit more affordable for me.

{Left} Peaches, strawberries, a banana, oats, greek yogurt, a half scoop of protein powder, spinach, and add a cup of unsweetened almond milk!
{Right} raspberries, a banana, greek yogurt, a pack of ViShape shake mix, and add one cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk!

The trick to smoothies?? Frozen fruit! So the next time you buy some fruit, freeze part of it! It’s very simple, just wash {and cut if necessary} up your fruit, layer on a cookie sheet and pop in the freezer to freeze! Once frozen, you can then bag it. I use the cookie sheet so the pieces of fruit don’t freeze together in the bag. Then voila! You’re all set and no ice is necessarily needed when blending.

Another thing I like to do with my smoothies, is to dump a cup of Chobani greek yogurt in! I will use the flavor of the fruit that I’m making the smoothie with. It blends rather nicely and gives you that extra protein kick too! Enjoy!

What do you like to put in your smoothies?

I like spinach in salads but I haven't tried it in a smoothie yet. I love smoothies too, try adding acai juice into it also. I add orange juice to cover the taste but still get the nutrients. Buy frozen fruit just check on the ingredients on the back companies like dole have frozen pineapples, they are flash frozen so the only ingredient they have is the fruit itself no perservatives it'll save you a few bucks :)

I've tried buying frozen fruit but I like the fresh better. We get plenty I the co-op bags we get and can stock up when there are great sales. :) I've tried a ready made smoothie with acai juice and hated it. But I may try again with your suggestion!!
