July’s Theme!

A big shout out to Jenn for hosting the party!
What WIAW isn’t about:
Comparison – Judgment – Restriction – GuiltWhat WIAW is about:
Celebrating one of the glorious things we all have in common: We all eat!WIAW is about food and fun! It’s about making new friends, breaking out of a food rut, inspiring yourself & others, embracing fruit & vegetables, finding new ways to eat your favorite foods, and so much more ♥
Celebrate blogging. Celebrate Food. Celebrate Individuality.
On a serious note, food fuels you and can affect your fitness, so it’s quite naturally a pair that goes hand in hand. For a healthier body, you need good fuel…for a stronger body, you need workouts to build muscle, not fat. With that being said, here’s a few things that I enjoy on my workout days this past week:

{Pre-workout} GNC’s Pro-sculpt {Post-workout} Muscle Milk / strawberry mango smoothie {Monday & Tuesday post-workout breakfasts} leftover strawberry chocolate chip pancakes I made on Sunday! / egg white omelet with tomatoes / strawberries
Since I switched up a couple of weeks ago to working out in the morning instead of the evening, I find myself hungrier during the day! Yikes! So I feel like I’ve been stuffing myself lately…
So in keeping with the fitness theme of this WIAW…did you know that I do all my workouts at home WITHOUT a gym membership? Yes, I was paying for a membership for 2 years and didn’t get anything out of it. It was the last few months of the membership that I was able to get my butt back in gear with running and exercises. But I made a decision that I was not going to renew it. I’m not a big group exercise fan unless it was body pump or RPM. And I love that if I want to run, I could just walk out my front door {although I wish I had a more safer/less traffic traveled and scenic route, but it’s convenient} and go!
It was after my membership expired that I decided I wanted to get one of those home gyms. So PJ and I went in on halves and got one. It was a nice addition to the treadmill that I already had. Within a few weeks, I also added to my dumbbell collection and included a kettlebell or two. I plan on adding more and also getting a barbell to add to the “weights station” {aka floor}.
Next up? I want to get a new treadmill. I’m looking for a commercially used one. I have this train of thought that if I get one of those, it will last longer and be sturdier. I guess we’ll see. After that, I plan on investing in an indoor cycle. I miss RPM classes but not enough to pay the membership fees to a gym where I’m sometimes S-O-L on getting a bike. So the next best thing is getting one for the home gym!
What are your Pre- and Post-workout fuels?
Thoughts on the different between a non-commercial and a commercially used treadmill are welcomed, please!

I just started incorporating Genetix line into my workouts! I have never felt better!
My recent post WIAW Food, Fitness and a treadmill interval workout
Are you using the whole line? I'm only using the pro-sculpt and the physioburn and I love it!!!
Im using the same as you! I think adding the other stimulant would have been too much for me.
Me too! I'd much rather drink them rather than swallow more pills. Plus I'm also taking the women's ultra mega active vitapak, so that's already two packs a day!
I really love that you do all your workouts at home. I'm glad I'm not the only one! So many of my friends have gym memberships, but I've always felt so much better/more confident working out at home. I hope you don't mind, I included this post in Healthy Way to Cook's roundup of the best WIAW entries from last week
Love your blog! http://www.healthywaytocook.com/2012/07/11/what-i…
I'm honored!!!! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
While I do miss having access to a gym with all their great equipment & classes, I definitely don't miss handing over that money! Haha! I find that I can focus on myself more when I work out at home.
