Get Motivated Mondays: GOtheXtraMile’s Treadmill Workout

Last night I participated in my first ever #RunChat! What is #RunChat you ask? It’s a Twitter chat held every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month @ 8pm EST with fellow runners, hosted by Scott and David. It was great to connect with other runners and trade info and suggestions between each other through questions asked. I definitely will be participating again since it was rather motivating and I made some new Twitter friends in the process!

Since I’ll be coming down from the #RunChat high, my posts this week will be about running. For Get Motivated Mondays today, I’m sharing a favorite treadmill routine I came across a few months ago from Brittany at GOtheXtraMile…who, by the way, is now a new Twitter friend of mine as of yesterday!

It’s made to be an interval workout, repeating until you reach your desired mileage. However, I use it as a quick one mile warm up run before lifting weights. I really considered changing the speed but since she tailored it per tenths of a mile, I figured “what-the-hey, I’ll do it anyways!” And I did. Though the 7.5mph speed was rather challenging, I was stoked when I actually completed it! That speed is pretty much a full on sprint for my short little legs. I felt great afterwards so I definitely kept this in my favorites and use it periodically. Thanks Brittany!!

I used this routine as a warm up on my chest & back day the other week!
