Yes, you heard me. You know you want to say it too! It’s that catchy little phrase from that commercial which once stuck in your head, it will take forever to go away. You can thank me later…

Well, now that I’ve got your attention and you all are imagining those little pets that grow green sprouts…let’s talk about Chia seeds!! {laughing because I can’t get it out of my head now}

Many of you may know about Chia seeds and its benefits, and many of you might not. A friend of mine, Jonna, asked me about them after reading my Tasty Tuesday post of Banana Bread with Chia seeds! Thus leading me to this blog post. I love love LOVE my Chia seeds! Not only are they nutritious, easily digestible, versatile, and helps reduce cravings; but they are also a great source of healthy omega-3 oil which is one of my top reasons for adding them to my diet. In fact, they have more omega-3 than any other source, including salmon!

Below are a couple of links that I came across while Googling for info on them when I decided to incorporate them into my daily diet.

One of my favorite ways to incorporate chia seeds is in my {almost} daily bowl of oats!

1/2 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of almond milk
1/2 cup of water
1 tbsp of chia seeds

Mix then nuke for about 2 – 2 1/2 minutes.

The chia seeds will thicken up the oats!

Then top with your favorite nut butter and fruit! Here I used 1 tbsp of sunflower seed butter and a handful of frozen raspberries. Yumm-O!
